The unique thing about Shamekh is his way of getting inspired for his fashion illustrations. Everyday things are source of inspiration for his upcoming dress/costume design. The way I think he’s goes is juxtaposing the stencil of his dress design against the real world, try to fir that in the stencil and grab that flavour in his design.

This is how it happened step by step:

Step 1 (Behind the scene thinking)

He would think about the style/form/type and material of the dress he wants to design.

Step 2 (Drawing on paper)

He makes make the outline of the form/type of the dress on white sheet (thick paper or cardboard)

Step 3 (preparing stencil)

Then, the dress portion of the drawing/sketch is cut-out to make it a stencil.

Step 4 (Exploration)

Stencil’s been taken out in open world to be juxtaposed against the real world objects, scenes and beautiful things to get the sense of pattern, colour and pattern that could fit in the dress to make it a uniquely awesome piece of art.

Shamekh is aspiring fashion illustrator getting inspired from the real world for each design and inspiring budding illustrators like me.

Following video show’s a quick view of his process
